Flying Start @ Marjon Make Pumpkin Soup

The floras mini explorers have been exploring how to make pumpkin soup.

The children have cut open a pumpkin to see what’s inside. Then they scooped out the insides, peeled and chopped up the pumpkin with other different vegetables and placed them inside the soup maker and waited for it to cook. The children had a great time tasting it once it has cooked.

Flying Start @ Marjon Outside Painting

The Toddlers at Flying Start Marjon have been having fun by exploring what will happen when powder paint and water are mixed. What made it even more fun was that it was raining, and the children just loved pouring and sprinkling it on the floor to make different patterns. We even filled a tray up with water and placed a slide in the tray and the children had great fun going down and splashing into the water.

This week in the baby room we did some painting. We used the cars to make lots of different marks on our paper. We dipped the cars into the paint and let them go down the slide. It was great fun.

Flying Start @ Marjon Forest Trip

Out in the forest the Toddlers have been exploring under stones and logs to see what bugs they can find and just look who came up to say hello to the children – a slug and a spider. The children had a great time talking about what marks they can see on the slug and how fast the spider is.

Flying Start @ Marjon Make Salsa!

This week the toddler room have been peeling and cutting up different vegetables to make salsa. The Toddler room children learnt how to hold the peeler correctly and how to use the cutting equipment safely so they could have fun making same yummy salsa for their snack time.

Flying Start @ Cornwall College Tiger Who Came to Tea

The Toddlers @ Flying Start Marjon have been listening to and exploring the Tiger who came to tea. The children have been gluing and sticking tissue paper to create their own Tiger picture. They have even had their very own tea party just like in the story.

Flying Start @ Marjon Explore Construction

This week the toddler children have been exploring construction, they have been wearing hard hats and exploring the construction role play. They have also been building with a variety of resources including using Weetabix, large building blocks and adding playdough and gloop as cement. They have had a fantastic time exploring using their imagination.

Flying Start @ Marjon Valentine’s Cards

The babies @ Flying Start Marjon have had a great time celebrating valentine’s day this week! We have been painting cards for or loved ones and even played with red playdough and red rose petals to keep in touch with the love theme.

Flying Start Reading Challenge

This week in Marjon Forest hut, the children have been exploring large scale transient art. The children have been working together and learning how to share and follow patterns to create art work similar to the artist Andy Goldsworthy using photos for refence.
