News » Flying Start @ Cornwall College get busy building!

The children from the Pre-school at Flying Start @ Cornwall College recently had a visit from Bardons Builders, a local building company, to learn all about being a builder!

The nursery have been lucky enough to borrow a wide variety of building equipment and they even had a mixer turn up mixing cement!!!

All children were given hard hats and fluorescent jackets to wear to help them pretend they were builders and really get stuck into the role. One child commented that it was 'really exciting' and they all joined in to add their footprints in to a cement frame to mark the special occassion.

The staff and children have now made a builders role play area in the nursery garden and have continued to explore different materials, how things are constructed and have been looking at buildings in the wider environment!

Sarah, the Manager would like to thank everyone at Bardons Builders for all of their help and for the loan of the equipment, which the children are really enjoying using!!!
